Japan Temporary Visitor Visa (Tourism)

Documents required

  1. Original passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival, with at least 2 blank visa pages
  2. Visa application form, signed
  3. Recent colour photograph — 1 photo, 45 × 35 mm, white background, taken within the last 6 months
  4. Schedule of stay (day-wise itinerary in Japan's format)
  5. Confirmed return or onward flight reservation
  6. Hotel booking for the entire stay (or invitation letter from your host with their ID and address proof)
  7. Personal bank statements for the last 6 months, signed & stamped by the bank, showing sufficient funds for the trip
  8. Income Tax Return acknowledgements (ITR-V) for the last 2 assessment years, or Form 16
  9. Proof of occupation — Employed: employer NOC / leave approval and last 3 months' salary slips; Self-employed: GST / Udyam / company registration; Students: bonafide certificate or NOC; Retired: pension proof
  10. Covering letter signed by the applicant stating the purpose of visit, travel dates, itinerary and who is funding the trip

  • JAPAN eVISA holders must show the "Visa Issuance Notice" on their smartphone at the airport — printouts and PDFs are not accepted.
